Egg Donor Options

A Known Donor

The first decision you need to make is whether you want a “known egg donor” or “anonymous egg donor”.

  • Option One

A close relative or friend is the egg donor.

  • Option Two

An egg donor who agrees to have direct contact with you chosen from an egg donor database.

Some people prefer option two, To give their future child the option to know and form a relationship with their donor. However, defining such a known donor’s role in your and your child’s life can be challenging as much as the lack of legal guidelines for interactions with known donors.

An Anonymous Donor

A donor found through a donor database whose full identity is not revealed to the intended parents. The egg donation agency or fertility center serves as the point of contact with the donor. Using an anonymous donor provides more confidentiality and a clearly defined relationship with the donor.

Egg Donation Process

Egg donation allows you to provide healthy eggs to individuals who are unable to become parents on their own. By donating your eggs, you’re literally giving the gift of family. People turn to egg donation for a variety of reasons, including couples struggling with infertility, or individuals in same-sex relationships who wish to conceive.

Egg donation timelines vary, and we cannot guarantee that you’ll be selected as an egg donor. While the medical process takes around one month, the donation process requires a commitment of three to four months. These timelines are subject to change but can provide a good estimate of what to expect.

We screen egg donors in multiple stages. First, you must meet our egg donor requirements. Then, we’ll verbally review your general health and wellness, family genetic history, reproductive health, and ability to physically donate your eggs through initial lab work, and possible ultrasound, pending your location. This helps us ensure that donating eggs will be a safe fertility treatment. Finally, upon matching we will screen you psychologically to ensure that you are comfortable with egg donation and that we have your full consent.

No. This process is entirely paid for by your intended parents. You should not have any out-of-pocket expenses.

Your official ID (Passport), proof of address, birth certificate and marriage certificate if married. An updated STD panel and sperm analysis would be needed as well.

In most legal systems of the Spanish-speaking world, the writ of amparo (also called recurso de amparo or juicio de amparo) is a remedy for the protection of constitutional rights, found in certain jurisdictions. The amparo remedy or action is an effective and inexpensive instrument for the protection of individual rights. The Amparo, generally granted by a supreme or constitutional court, serves a dual protective purpose: it protects the citizen and their basic guarantees and protects the constitution itself by ensuring that its principles are not violated by statutes or actions of the state that undermine the basic rights enshrined therein. It resembles, in some respects, constitutional remedies such as the tutela available in Colombia, the writ of security (Mandado de Segurança) in Brazil and the constitutional complaint (Verfassungsbeschwerde) procedure found in Germany.

It is $1,260,000 MXN (Egg donor + IVF + Surrogate)

The baby’s birth and the process of obtaining the birth certificate will take place in the same State where the amparo proceedings trial, and that being the State of Nayarit close to Puerto Vallarta

You’ll have to come twice. One for 4 to 6 days first trip (if you are using an egg donor or embryos, and due to sperm wash procedure, the first visit will be to Mexico City) or 15 days if you are using your own eggs. Then, a second visit when the baby is born (3 to 4 weeks).

Yes, you can. There’s the need to get an importation permit for genetic samples from the Mexican customs authorities and of the Health Risk Assessment department (COFEPRIS in Mexico). When this permit is in place, then shipment can take place, this way, it would not be at risk to be stopped at the border or held at customs. Price depends on the country, laboratory and company your clinic uses locally. We have no control over other countries’ prices, so consider this an added extra cost and out of pocket expense.
